About us: Welcome! I’m a Texas Cowgirl at heart, born and raised. After high school, my parents relocated to the beautiful California sun-and let me tell you, it was a culture shock. But it didn’t take long before I blended right in, and I became one of the natives. As you read on, you’ll get to know me, my journey, and how life eventually led me right here to this screen. There was truly no stopping once my story began to unravel.
Gloria’s Story, enjoy my Journey
I finished college in Los Angeles and stepped into the working world as a D.A. Instructor. Then I moved on as a Dental office manager downtown Wilshire. I managed a 3-doctor office, a hygienist, a Lab technician, and their assistants.
One of the staff dentists was an Instructor at USC and also an avid runner. I decided to run also. This is when my passion for running began. I continued training and started to run 26.2 mi. marathons and 10k’s, 5ks. I joined the Roadrunners Club in Santa Monica, led by an L.A. Police coach. I was one of the runners for the first Disneyland marathons ever. It sure was a fun run!
Just for the thrill of it, I climbed to the top of Mt. Baldy (placed 3rd in my age group). I traveled to San Francisco to run the S.F. Bridge, my beautiful niece, Yoli, a travel agent, got me my travel ticket. I ran the Long Beach Bridge with 3 of my nephews Michael, Toby and Joseph. Later we took a boat to Catalina Island to rest. They still have not forgiven me for taking them to a “can;t go back run. Sorry guys, they survived.
I really enjoyed running a marathon on the beautiful San Diego Coronado Bridge. Flew to Chicago marathon and later ran Las Vegas marathon. Flew to Jamaica and later stayed in Europe for a month visiting London, Norway, Ireland for recuperation. I’m sure I left a marathon out of this list can’t recall all because in between travel I ran local marathons,10ks,5ks. Yes, I was obsessed with running and I still have all my medals. Someday, I’ll take them out of storage and display them here inside one of my pages.
I also flew to Hawaii for a marathon; of course, a Kenyan won, he ran the full race barefoot!. I ran the Las Vegas marathon, too. I wasn’t breaking any records, nor was I trying to set any. I just loved and thoroughly enjoyed running and going to new places. Loved the high.
Eventually, I removed my self from the world of dentistry. So, I switched gears and earned my Real Estate License, GRI. I loved the industry, but knocking on doors just wasn’t for me (no internet then). That’s when I moved into the financial side of real estate and became a Loan Officer for Countrywide. I loved working with potential homebuyers and getting their loans approved for their new home.
And that’s where life surprised me-I met my wonderful blue-eyed Italian husband, a Real Estate Broker, also a self-taught drummer. He played the best: “Wipe-Out” ever. After we married, we moved back to Texas, where I began working for the United States Treasury Dept (IRS) in Austin. I continued working there for 13 years.
When I declined to take the Covid vaccine, I had to retire from the IRS. So, back to California we went. I still enjoyed working and wasn’t ready for full retirement-but I also did not want long commutes, office politics, 9-5 schedules, or being stuck in brutal L.A. traffic.
After my retirement, I wanted something I could do from home. That’s when I started sewing Barbie dresses, but as a fun hobby. Friends and family encouraged me to sell them online, and that idea provided an internet door for me .

While searching for ideas and possibilities, Wala! I came across PBS! Rory’s positivity and enthusiasm about health, wellness, and wealth caught my attention. Curious as always, I joined, and it has made my golden years even brighter.
Here I am, I am learning something new every day with PBS! Rory, founder of PBS, continues to surprise me with all the exciting things this organization offers. I look forward to learning, growing, and sharing as new opportunities come flashing through PBS.
